Come see how we do things in our backyard garden. From starting seeds in the greenhouse to maximizing garden space, we've tried a variety of methods and are still learning. We will share some tips that have worked well for us (i.e. crop rotation, irrigation, pruning, trellising, etc) and finish the tour by making and tasting Sicilian pesto (allergy note: includes nuts).

Kristin Umbarger-Keene is a public school music teacher who has been gardening for 18 years.  Always learning, she does a lot of quick google searches and experiments with new ideas  (ask her about planting carrot seeds this year-- it worked!)  She enjoys eating organic veggies on homemade pizza and commuting to and from school on the Link bus.
