Seasonal Abundance: a low waste cooking series is a hands-on workshop bringing together community members to share in the seasonal bounty of NCW. Participants will learn low waste cooking techniques from local chefs while preparing several recipes using a featured produce item and other regionally bountiful ingredients. Each participant will leave with several new recipes and the inspiration to reduce food waste in their own kitchen. After enjoying a meal together, the extra prepared food will be shared with the Community Cupboard.
In July the featured ingredient will be zucchini! Zucchini is one of those crops that flood our backyard gardens every summer. What to do with them all? Learn from Kurt and Nadine, owners of the former Good Mood Food, how to creatively process and cook with this abundant food.
This workshop is free but advanced registration is required. Please RSVP here, space is limited!
